Engage - We will greet each other with a smile and handshake at the beginning of each class.
X-plore - Students will complete a warm-up/journal at the beginning of class, then we will take 3-5 minutes and ask students to share Good Things. I may share some Good Things too!
Communicate - Student and teacher will work on open communication daily so your students know that you care about them by affirming them publicly. Remember body language and tone communicate volumes and it goes both ways.
Empower - Students participate in the classroom by giving them jobs. Students get frustrated when they’re capable but aren’t allowed to take on tasks. Empower the class to manage itself by using the Social Contract.
Launch - End on a positive note! Be intentional about ending class powerfully. Review what we covered in class, ask for a commitment to action, and end with a simple but inspirational quote or saying.
